It all started with Vittoria’s desire to further improve her bike position. The goal was to create an armrest that was not only functional but also aerodynamic and customizable, able to adapt to the different needs of a professional athlete.

“Armrest” is a term that doesn’t really do justice to the complexity of this component. It is a fundamental element for maintaining the optimal aerodynamic position and directly influencing the trajectory during the fastest phases of the race.

An Ambitious Project

ONEDGE enthusiastically embraced the challenge, leveraging its expertise and cutting-edge technologies. The project was characterized by close collaboration between engineers and the athlete, with numerous tests and prototypes created using 3D printing.

The search for the right balance between lightness, strength, and aerodynamics led to the use of high-performance composite materials and innovative production techniques. The result is an armrest with essential lines but an extremely complex internal structure.

FTR: The Future of Cycling

The armrests developed for Vittoria Bussi have been named FTR, an acronym that stands for “future”. This is a product destined to revolutionize the world of cycling, thanks to its unique features:

  • Customization: FTR armrests can be adapted to different arm lengths, ensuring a perfect fit for every athlete.
  • Innovative materials: The use of a composite of thermoplastic and thermosetting polymers, reinforced with carbon fiber, gives the armrests lightness, strength, and rigidity.
  • Perfect integration: The armrests integrate seamlessly with the carbon fiber frame of the bicycle, optimizing aerodynamics.
  • Integrated controls: The latest version of FTR armrests features integrated controls for the electronic drivetrain, offering further performance optimization.
